It's no secret the Class of 2011 lacks size, but the Hoyas scored shot-blocker Mikael Hopkins (Hyattsville, Md./DeMatha) and space-eater Tyler Adams (Brandon, Miss./Brandon). The underrated recruit of the trio is Jabril Trawick (Philadelphia, Pa./Abington Friends). If we're correct about Trawick, he'll be a rugged wing who won't back down in the rough and tumble Big East."

On Saturday we finally got to see him in action, and it was well worth the wait, as he went for 29 points on 14-for-21 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds. A versatile forward, the talented prospect displayed an impressive mid-range, knocking down six jumpers from 14 to 18-feet. The lengthy, but thin, prospect moves up and down the floor fluidly, is able to use his length to create all kinds of deflections and has great touch around the basket. Porter has the look of at least a top 100 prospect and is a legit high-major player. Otto Porter has scholarship offers from Missouri, Georgetown, SEMO, Missouri State and Mississippi." He is a nice 3/4. Problem is the schollie crunch and glut at that spot, although another SF is not bad. Either way Gtown is in a win win, so it is not a big deal. If I have to be honest, then I would take him over Hopkins in a second, but that is no longer realistic. So gotta play the hand that is dealt. This team is loaded at some spots in the future and thin at others. So burning a schollie on Porter just is not wise.

Unless we get a transfer... And balla- honesty is usually the best policy ......i'd take porter over hopkins too. Looking ahead-- i'd like to have another legit PG and SG/SF. But don't see any popping up in 2011. Will be interesting to see how 2012 shapes up. Kyle Anderson would fill both these needs in a way. Would love to get him.

He will be a good player, but he is to weak to play PF in the Big East and does not have the handle or perimeter skills yet to really play the SF in the Big East. He should be very good by his soph year though...

Posts: 3528 Feb 10 11 6:38 PM	Yep. In all honesty, there have been 2 recruits in the JT3 era that I really really wanted, and for whatever reason did not end up at Gtown: 1. Terrance Jones {sorry Lil Deals} 2. Rodney Hood {LUV HIS GAME} People think that I hate a 3 guard offense. Not true. I hate a 3 guard offense with shorter, less athletic, one dimensional players. Having a 3 guard offense of Markel, Hollis, and Hood would make Uncle Balla ecstatic. Tall athletic guards/wings that can handle the ball, shoot, and defend multiple positions is what I have always wanted in this system. Frankly, that is when the system will be at is optimum, because there is no defense for that with all of the good bigs that Gtown will always have. I do not give a darn about stansburry one way or another, but I hope he gets fired. LOL. Rodney has one official visit left, so I hope Tyler Adams is in his ear every second. Freeman and Chris leave, and there will be plenty of minutes immediately for a player like hood. There will be other coaches fired or that move when the season ends, so more players will become available. There is nobody in the current 2011 class available that can make an impact on the team next season, so they are worth monitoring but do not really matter either way. They just give the usual suspects someone to hype and try and sucker people into subscriptions. LOL. When some of these coaches are fired or move, then some impact players will become available.

As for Terrence Jones, I think everyone loves his game, but it's my view that anyone who ends up at Kentucky was never going to attend Georgetown. By the way, I noticed that Christmas, Johnny O. and Quinn Cook all made the Mickey D game. Whatever.

Posts: 3528 Feb 23 11 11:37 PM	Remove this ad Semaj would be a good back-up to Markel. After Hollis, Markel will be the most talented player on the roster next season. Obviously, people can't see that this season as he presses to do as much as possible in limited minutes. But he has the goods. Having said that, he dramatically needs to improve his on ball defense and footwork on jumpshot. His defense was crap in highschool, and JT3 better break him off his bad habits or it will be another 3 years of crappy defense from the PG position. And Nate gets more minutes this season because the only other PF option is well....I won't even say his name the rest of the season. Heck, I might not even say his name the rest of his career.
